Radio Outreach 90.8 FM Organises Awareness Programme on Vector-Borne Diseases Jagatsinghpur/Odisha: Radio Outreach 90.8 FM organised an awareness programme and narrowcasting session on vector-borne diseases at Jagannathpur High School, Tiran. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about vector-borne diseases such as dengue and malaria, particularly during the monsoon season when the risk of such diseases increases. Station Director of Radio Outreach 90.8 FM, Subrat Kumar Pati, attended the programme and sensitised the students on preventive measures against vector-borne diseases during the monsoon. He highlighted the importance of preventing water stagnation in and around homes and school premises, taking necessary measures to control mosquito breeding, and seeking medical advice promptly if symptoms of such diseases appear. Social activist Dr. Basanta Manjari Das also attended the programme and advised the students to remain more vigilant about cleanliness and health during the monsoon season. She urged them to keep their homes, school premises and surroundings clean to prevent vector-borne diseases and encouraged them to spread awareness among their family members and neighbours.

During the narrowcasting session, students listened to a series of awareness jingles on vector-borne diseases through radio. The jingles were developed by the State Institute of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Odisha and are being broadcast through radio to disseminate important health messages among the public.

Journalist Trupti Ranjan Mohanty coordinated the programme. Headmaster Chitta Ranjan Das appreciated the awareness initiative undertaken by Radio Outreach and said that such programmes are highly useful in educating students about health and preventive measures.

Radio Outreach 90.8 FM has been regularly organising awareness programmes and community outreach initiatives on health and social issues, with the objective of spreading important public-interest messages and promoting a healthier and more aware society.
