Belagavi City Police Commissioner Shri. Bhushan Gulabrao Borase, IPS, Visits KLE Venudhwani 90.4 FM Belagavi: Shri. Bhushan Gulabrao Borase, IPS, Commissioner of Belagavi City, visited KLE Venudhwani 90.4 FM, Belagavi, and participated in a special radio programme. Dr. Sunil Jalalpure, Secretary, KLE Society, Belagavi, warmly welcomed Shri. Bhushan Gulabrao Borase, IPS, to the programme. During the radio interview, Shri. Borase spoke about the activities and role of “Akka Pade” (Sister Squad), a special force comprising women police personnel. Unlike regular patrol teams, members of Akka Pade visit various public places and interact directly with students and members of the public. He explained that the team works to create awareness about the ill-effects of child marriage, sexual abuse, the POCSO Act, substance abuse, and cyber traps. Through direct interaction and awareness programmes, Akka Pade aims to educate students and the community about safety, prevention and responsible behaviour.

Shri. Borase highlighted the important role played by Akka Pade in protecting women and children, preventing crimes, and strengthening awareness among students and the wider community.

The special radio programme provided an important platform to spread awareness about community safety, women and child protection, and the preventive initiatives undertaken by the Belagavi City Police.
